From the outset, this project was challenging, as the original existing property that the clients wanted to alter and extend, had limited space to work on, and very old-fashioned construction. With a good design attitude and brief from the client, the project became an exciting challenge that brought out good ideas from the client, both initially, and throughout the construction phase.
The original plain family home, was transformed into an executive level property that would not be out of place in the most prestigious parts of Auckland or Queenstown, due greatly to the hands-on involvement of the client and their approach to design and construction problems.
The unique pergola was the idea of the client who had an engineering background, and with more than capable builders, what was once an unattractive and poorly designed house, has today transformed into a delightful and free-flowing family home of the highest calibre.
